2016 BHSU Kenadi Jean Basketball Night- Katherine Drake, Scholarship Recipient

Kenadi loved playing basketball and was the proud recipient of several pieces of Future Yellow Jacket gear. Although faced with global delays from an anoxic birth injury she displayed great bravery, determination and a fighting Jacket spirit.

On Saturday, February 6, 2016, the Yellow Jacket men’s and women’s basketball teams faced the Fort Lewis College Skyhawks with the Women’s team taking the floor at 4 PM and the Men’s team playing at 6 PM.

It was a fun night of half-time entertainment honoring Kenadi with all proceeds from our BHSU T-shirt quilt raffle, 50/50 tickets, Frisbee Free Throw sales and Silent Auction items going to fund the BHSU Kenadi Jean Weis Memorial Scholarship awarded annually to a graduating senior majoring in the Special Education Program.

Katherine Drake was our inaugural Scholarship recipient and presented her certificate during half time of the Women’s game.

Fans wore hot pink and cheered the Jackets on to a home court victory!
