2nd Annual Kenadi Jean Weis Memorial Scholarship Awarded
The Kenadi Jean Weis Foundation members were tickled pink (and green & gold) to award Gabrielle Haefs as their second annual Kenadi Jean Weis Memorial Scholarship recipient.
Gabby hails from Rapid City, South Dakota and is a Black Hills State University senior majoring in Elementary Education, with an emphasis on inclusion of students with disabilities into general education classrooms. She is a Dean’s List Student and active on the Women’s Basketball Team. Gabby volunteers her time at Love, Inc; Special Olympics ant the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
Her career objective is to be the absolute best elementary teacher she can be to all of her students, especially impacting the lives of children with diverse abilities and skill bases through her unique teaching and coaching strategies.
Gabby intends to model respect for and celebrate the unique gifts of all students as individuals. This appreciation will transform her classroom from a mere meeting place into a genuine community.
Kenadi’s foundation delegates could not be more pleased with the quality of candidates Black Hills State University presents and is looking forward to a long-lasting relationship with both the University and the Scholarship Recipients.
