7th Annual Kenadi Jean Weis Memorial Scholarship Awarded
The Kenadi Jean Weis Foundation rounded up BHSU senior Dalton Magilke as their 2021-2022 Kenadi Jean Weis Memorial Scholarship champion.
Dalton was raised on a ranch in rural North Dakota where he developed hard-working qualities and a love for the cowboy lifestyle. At Black Hills State University, he is a Phi Theta Kappa Dean’s List student who is on the Rodeo Team competing all across the Midwest. Dalton and his young horse Po ended up just one spot away from qualifying for the CNFR. The Yellow Jackets most recently finished their season at the Cyclone Stampede in Ames Iowa where Dalton and Tanner Fite placed fourth in team roping.
It is evident that it is in Dalton’s nature to help others by his community service, volunteerism, fundraising efforts and personal experience of working with children and adults with special needs.
Upon graduation in December of 2021, Dalton plans to teach in Special Education and hopes to make a positive difference in the lives of others by being kind, helping others and spreading happiness.
When Dalton is not roping or riding, you can find him hiking in the beautiful Black Hills, reading a good book at the local coffee shop, or spending time with family and friends.
Congratulations Dalton!
