Obtaining your child’s medical equipment can be a tiring, daunting, and expensive task. Many times there are several options, brands, styles of apparatus and equipment available which can be extremely overwhelming. Through our experience we also found that even once we received the equipment it wouldn’t be what we expected, wouldn’t fit, or needed to be modified – what an exhausting experience!
Kenadi’s Closet provides an opportunity for a “test drive” of a special piece of equipment before making a commitment to purchase it. Kenadi’s Closet provides a variety of therapy equipment for children with special needs to try out before an expensive, nonrefundable purchase is made. We also have a variety of toys available for loan. Families and therapists can view our inventory of equipment online available for a 30-day trial within a 50 mile radius of Spearfish, South Dakota.
To protect our investment and the health of future clients, our adaptive pieces must remain in a smoke-free environment.
If you do not see something that you need, please contact us and we will help locate the item or something similar available in our area.
Kenadi’s Closet also serves as a place where families and therapists can donate used equipment that has either been out-grown by their child or no longer needed. To donate therapy equipment, please fill out the Equipment Donor Application.
In the Black Hills area, there are several governmental agencies that may be able to help with obtaining medical equipment after insurance. Please check into the following South Dakota Family Support Providers/Contacts for your area: https://dhs.sd.gov/dd/family/contact.aspx
Funding Adaptive Mobility Equipment for Young Children with Disabilities
Kenadi’s Closet also grants funding for equipment not found in our closet, for families in need and who have exhausted their mainstream resources. As funding is available for this portion of the foundation’s mission and vision, we will give grant funding to select applicants. Please fill out a grant request form which will be presented at our next regularly scheduled meeting.
